Classroom Christmas Kindness Activities
Step By Step Teacher Instructions for Easy Use
- Download the App
- Connect selected device to Smart Board.
- Explain to all that each ornament will be added after doing a kind act.
- Open App and tap “Start New Tree” button.
- Type in individual student name or name of classroom tree if working cooperatively. Next, on the same screen tap to select the number of ornaments to decorate a tree and background theme.
- Tap the “Create a Tree" button and your Christmas Tree of Kindness Tree appears and is ready to be decorated.
- Children may raise their hands and once called upon, explain/discuss a kind act and then select an ornament to add to the tree.
- Tap the red ornament at the bottom left of the screen.
- Enter your own completed kind act by typing it in the box on the top right. (Shortcut/no typing needed is to select a suggested kind act kind by tapping the add button which appears to the right of the suggestion.)
- Tap the red ornament on the top left to view all the ornaments. When the next screen opens, choose an ornament to add to the tree by tapping. Next, tap the add button at the bottom of the screen and that ornament is added to the tree.
- A teacher may tap any ornament on a tree and all will view the description of kind act.
- Tap the hamburger symbol on the top left of the screen to return to the home screen to view the “How to Play”/Tutorial, “Start New Tree” and “Tree List” buttons. Please note that the story and printable craft may also be accessed from this hamburger section.
- An unlimited number of trees may be created, decorated, completed, saved and retrieved from the “Tree List”.
- When a tree is completed all may celebrate that our world is a kinder place by receiving a star for the top of the tree and hearing/singing together “We wish you a Merry Christmas” and “Jingle Bells”. Enjoy playing!!!
